LG Optimus Pad locked for MWC event

LG on Friday confirmed that it would bring the G-Slate outside of the US at Mobile World Congress. It confirmed that the hardware would be badged as the Optimus Pad for other countries and would be very similar outside of the native 3G frequencies. In a surprise, it confirmed that the 8.9-inch tablet would have an even larger battery than the iPad with a 6,400mAh pack.
The tablet is one of the first beyond Motorola to run Android 3.0 and drives the OS on a 1280x768 screen. An NVIDIA Tegra 2 both gives it faster graphics and support for 1080p playback. Its standout will be dual rear cameras that can record 3D photos or video and support for 3D movie playback, albeit only through glasses or through HDMI.

LG should show the Optimus Pad in sync with the Optimus 3D phone at its planned event on February 14. T-Mobile gets the G-Slate in spring and possibly on March 23
